10 Comic Book Characters Who Deserve Their Own TV Shows

4. Gotham Central

Gotham Central was a police procedural comic book that ran from Feb. 2003 to April 2006, focusing on the Gotham City Police Department and the difficulties of living and working in a town patrolled by the Batman. Gotham is the most dark, dangerous city in comics and is not only home to Batman, but his slew of eccentric foes. A show centered around the normal men and women who have sworn to protect the innocent without resorting to vigilantism is a guaranteed success. The show could explore what the police are up against each day, and look inward at the corruption in Gotham. The show would be a perfect way for DC and Warner Bros. to cash in on the enormous popularity of the Dark Knight while exploring an aspect of the franchise we haven't really seen before. The show would be well placed near Batman's first appearance, when Jim Gordon was new to the city and when things really began to change. There are other heroes in Gotham besides the Caped Crusader that could make appearances on the show, and several criminals and organizations that are just dying to be adapted to live action such as Black Mask, The Penguin, Victor Zsasz, and the Riddler (just to name a few).
