When we first meet "Harrison Wells" in The Flash, he appears to be a tragedy-struck genius scientist. However, we eventually discover that Harrison Wells died many years before the series began and the person in his body is in fact Eobard Thawne, a Flash-nemesis from the future, hellbent on destroying Barry. It was kind of a bummer given that a real trust and rapport appeared to have built between the two characters and Tom Cavanagh- who plays Thawne- is such an absolute delight on screen. While it appeared that Thawne was destroyed in the season finale, Cavanagh is set to return in season two, though it remains to be seen who he will be playing. If he's playing Wells, his character will deserve some good loving after the whole wife-got-killed-then-he-got-murdered-then-he-had-his-body-taken-over-by-an-evil-time-traveller incident. And who better to give him the weird, slightly obsessive nurturing he'll need than Gideon, the AI created by Thawne to guide and serve him? It'll be a truly modern romance. Or failing that, he could team up with Snart to take revenge on the people who've wronged them. Sexy revenge.
