10 Crazy Characters You Forgot Existed In Stargate

5. Ma'chello

Ma'chello (played by Michael Shanks) was a rebel Human who had gone from being a thorn in the Goa'uld Ares' side, to the most wanted man in the galaxy, thanks to his relentless resistance against Goa'uld oppression.

He came to the attention of the SGC when they encountered him on the planet Tonnem. He tricked Daniel Jackson into swapping bodies with him, allowing him to be young again and live a life free from the constant threat of capture.

For context, he had survived for well over one hundred years thanks to both his own ingenuity and his eventual capture by Ares. After he had proved so dangerous to the Goa'uld, his wife Erris was captured and implanted with a Goa'uld symbiont. This allowed her to easily infilitrate Ma'chello's ranks, betraying his location to Ares.

Ares planned to implant him with a symbiont, though preferred to torture him first - again and again, healing by use of the sarcophagus - to enjoy his revenge. Ma'chello was able to escape through the Stargate before implantation.

He saw his capture of Daniel's body as a reward for a life's work of resistance, but soon came to understand that by taking the body, he was no better than a Goa'uld. Jackson, trapped in Ma'chello's own failing body, was dying. Facing his own mortality, Ma'chello returned Daniel to his body and died shortly afterward.
