10 Darkest Endings In Doctor Who

This episode presents two possible lives to the TARDIS team. In one, an expecting Amy and Rory are living happily married together in their home village, with the Doctor popping round to visit them. In the other, they are still travelling in the TARDIS and ready for another fantastical adventure.

As life-threatening dangers present themselves in both realities, the core trio must decide which scenario is real and which is a dream. Menacing them throughout this adventure is the gleefully sinister Dream Lord, whose origins remain a mystery despite interrogation by the Doctor. Only once the team have been through the ringer, and discovered that both realities were dream worlds, the main villain’s identity revealed.

It was the Doctor all along, specifically his darker side brought out by a nasty batch of psychic pollen that had rendered everyone unconscious in the first place. Once again, the Doctor is shown to be his own greatest enemy and is forced to think on the sort of evils he could carry out if he let himself go.
