10 DC Characters That Need Their Own HBO Max Series

5. Deathstroke

Batman Beyond HBO Max
The CW

This character has been in a few projects over the years, however, Slade Wilson has never had any time to shine in his own series because he’s always beaten by the hero of the show he’s in.

Here’s the thing - we haven’t really seen how unstoppable Deathstroke really is on the small screen. He is a man who will never stop fighting until his contract is fulfilled, and a few Batarangs to the chest won’t stop him. (After all, he is the original Terminator.)

With that in mind, The Mandalorian is the perfect inspiration to work from as it’s about a bounty hunter that learns to care for another life, protecting it at all cost. Taking away the heart aspect in Deathstroke’s series and making the character unfeeling would make for an interesting direction, because you wouldn't know whether to root for Deathstroke or feel sorry for the targets he takes out.

The targets are also an important detail to consider as the show could choose to have one target per episode or one target per season. Having one target per season gives the audience a long journey with a satisfying ending, as Deathstroke ventures to different countries in order to complete his contracts.
