6. Harry Lloyd
It's a case of Doctor Who guest stars colliding as far as Harry Lloyd and the previously mentioned Felicity Jones are concerned. They share the screen in The Theory of Everything in which Lloyd plays Stephen Hawking's chum Brian. His role as Jeremy Baines, a pupil at Farringham School for Boys, in the 2007 Doctor Who two parter Human Nature and The Family of Blood would've no doubt put him in good stead for his similar role in the Stephen Hawking biopic. He doesn't just portray school boys, though. Fans of the American fantasy series Game of Thrones will recognise him as Viserys Targaryen and he hasn't just played the best friend of a scientist, he's also played a scientist himself, too. In the US series Manhattan he took on the role of Paul Crosley, a British scientist who wants to advance at any cost. Sounds a bit like Baines, really. As an added piece of timey-wimey trivia, Russell T Davies has revealed that Harry would've been his personal choice to take over from David Tennant's as the titular Time Lord. The choice wasn't Russell's to make in the end but it's interesting to think about what could've been nonetheless.
