10 Doctor Who Actors Who Have Gained Recognition In The US
3. Andrew Garfield
Remember Frank, that fresh faced fella from Series 3's Daleks in Manhattan and Evolution of the Daleks two-parter? Who knew that he would one day become the Amazing Spider-Man himself. So far he's been spinning that web in two of the franchise's rebooted movies and it's no doubt his most defining role to date. Since Doctor Who he's also enjoyed parts in The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, Never Let Me Go and The Social Network, so he's certainly been a busy man indeed. He was born in LA, though, so the odds were in his favour. His encounter with the Daleks in 2007 no doubt put him good stead to take on the likes of Dr. Curt Connors and Electro in the city he would later be defending as Spider-Man, which is a nice coincidence. In The Social Network he faced his most formidable foe yet - Facebook - and cult fans can always rely on him to save the day if the Doctor ever fails to make an appearance. When an extra terrestrial excursion occurs it's never too long before Spider-Man swings into action.
