10 Doctor Who Actors You Won't Recognise Out Of Costume

5. Nicholas Briggs

His cries of "Exterminate!" are both universally adored and feared in equal measure, but his face? Not so much! Nicholas Briggs has been bringing the dreaded Daleks to life since Doctor Who's televisual revival back in 2005 and, clearly not content with voicing just one of the franchise's most formidable adversaries, he also lends his now iconic inflection to the Cybermen, too. Just imagine how busy he must've been during Doomsday! Talking to yourself is OK, apparently, when you're doing it as two of the Doctor's most iconic foes. Let's be honest, we've all been there. Nicholas is lucky enough to call it work, though, which means, as a lifelong fan of the show himself, he's basically living the Whovian dream. His other NuWho monster credentials include the Ice Warriors but he isn't always heard and not seen, although as the executive producer and frequent star of Big Finish's ongoing audio adventures, that's usually the case. He did venture in front of the camera as Rick Yates in Torchwood's acclaimed third series, Children of Earth, though, and in 2010 he took to the stage as Winston Churchill for the Doctor Who Live arena tour. A man of many faces indeed, but he's got even more voices and for that the Whoniverse is eternally grateful.
