10 Doctor Who Big Finish Moments That Will SHOCK You

6. The Two Masters Trilogy

Back in 2016, the Fifth, Sixth and Seventh Doctors, featured in the stories And You Will Obey Me, Vampire of the Mind and the Two Masters, respectively, with the three stories being tied together as the Two Masters trilogy. The first saw Fifth against the Geoffrey Beevers' Master, the second with Sixth and Alex MacQueen's incarnation, whilst the Seventh Doctor took on both in the finale.

Similar to the Curse of Davros, the Masters in this trilogy are revealed to not be quite who they seem. The finale revealed that in both their previous stories, the Masters were in each others bodies. Therefore, MacQueen's incarnation is actually present in the first story, but in the decaying Master's body, and vice versa in the second.

This is a real shock reveal in the final story, but when you re-listen to the other stories retrospectively you can notice the subtle differences in the actors usual performances. The Two Master's finale is one of Big FInish's greatest releases, with so much to enjoy, including three equally shocking cliffhangers at the end of each episode. Further shocks in this story include the revelation that the reason for the 'decayed' Master's appearance is actually a result of the MacQueen Master's actions.

2017 may have had the first onscreen Two Master's story, but Big Finish got there a year earlier. An absolute must.
