10 Doctor Who Bloopers You Need To See

1. "WILL YOU 'EFFING STAY STILL!"

It must be very frustrating for the Doctor to so often be ignored when giving out serious, life-saving instructions. "Don't follow me under any circumstances" usually results in a companion following him, and very nearly dying.

Of course, in-universe, the Doctor usually responds to this ignorance in a calm and forgiving manner, but in reality, that's not always the case. Just ask Sylvester McCoy.

During a scene in his final serial, Survival, the Seventh Doctor instructs Ace and everyone with them to "Stay still!" so as not to provoke an attack by the Cheetah People. Of course, nobody listens, and they all start to run away.

In one take of this sequence, McCoy can be seen, rather humorously, losing his temper at the fact that nobody is listening to him and begins to ad-lib his lines, adding some rather fruitful language before throwing his jacket (and then himself) onto the floor.

This goes on for a good 20 seconds too. His commitment to the bit is admirable, and even earns him some applause from the cast and crew at the end. Marvellous.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
