10 Doctor Who Characters Nobody Wants To See Return
1. The Kandyman
Where do we even begin with this one?
Appearing as a one-off villain in 1988's The Happiness Patrol, the Kandyman was the final nail in the coffin for the already ailing classic series. Just look at him.
To add to his peculiar design, he executes his victims using boiling hot sweets cooked up in his kitchen. Seriously. The Kandyman was universally panned, with one famous face in particular despising him.
That face was the show's original producer and showrunner Verity Lambert. Lambert caught this serial on television and hated it, barely recognising it as the show she was in charge of back in the 1960s.
The voice of the Kandyman is also one of the most annoying sounds known to mankind, and is almost as baffling as the costume itself.
Thankfully, due to legal reasons, we're probably never going to see him again. After broadcast, Bassetts - most famous for their Liquorice Allsorts - complained that the character was far too similar to their mascot Bertie Bassett, so the BBC promised never to use the Kandyman ever again.
