10 Doctor Who Characters Nobody Wants To See Return

In Series 8, Clara Oswald started dating fellow schoolteacher Danny Pink, who was played by Samuel Anderson.

The pair go on a proper date in the episode Listen, which is so incredibly awkward that Clara storms out and leaves. Fair enough really.

They eventually get it together a few episodes down the line, but sadly, Danny falls into the same worn-out situation as Mickey Smith and Rory Pond - that being, the male love interest being repeatedly sidelined and mistreated by the Doctor, with the female companion always stuck between choosing their other half, or the dashing, intelligent Time Lord.

This didn't put Danny in a great position as a character, since he already wasn't as likeable as either Mickey or Rory. Even worse, throughout their time together, he and Clara have very little chemistry.

After his underwhelming death (even Clara thought it was underwhelming, come on) there were a lot of fan cries for Danny to stay dead, partly due to Steven Moffat's habit of resurrecting characters, and partly because nobody cared enough to want him to stick around.
