10 Doctor Who Characters Who Came Back From The Dead

2. Jenny (The Doctor's Daughter)

Osgood
BBC

After an encounter with a progenation machine on a war torn planet, the Doctor accidentally became both mother and father (it was one of those days!) to a genetically programmed soldier named Jenny. He was at first dismissive of her, proclaiming she was little more than an echo of his Time Lord ancestry, but he soon came to respect her and see the possibility of regaining a little piece of his own race through her creation.

Of course, it was all too late. Jenny was shot through one of her hearts and died. She did not regenerate and the Doctor reluctantly left her body behind as he resumed his travels with Donna Noble. Mysteriously, Jenny suddenly gave off a flash of regeneration energy and came back to life, but did not change her appearance as Time Lords tend to do. Many thought that her revival was a last ditch attempt at creating a new spin off character but her unexpected resurrection was so rushed that it seemed almost like a last minute addition to the script.

As far as the show is concerned, her father/mother is still unaware of her continued existence. Damn.
