10 Doctor Who Characters Who Should Have Been Companions

6. Timothy Latimer

The Girl In The Fireplace 346
BBC Studios

The slightly psychic Timothy Latimer made his only appearance in the David Tennant two-part story Human Nature and The Family of Blood. Within the episode it was revealed that Tim had slight psychic abilities, and could often see below the surface of most people, which would have made him a fascinating addition to the TARDIS.

Tim had formed a bond with Martha during the episode, and had great chemistry with both David Tennant and Freema Agyeman, so adding him to the TARDIS team seemed like a no brainer! Sadly, we saw Timothy's story arc conclude within the episode, with the World War I survivor attending a Remembrance Day ceremony, only to be greeted by The Doctor and Martha.

That being said, it would have been interesting to see how Timothy faired during adventures in time and space. Not only does he have special abilities, but he is also from the early 1900s. Seeing his reaction to all of the new technology and planets could have made him one of the most unique companions in the modern era.
