10 Doctor Who Companions Who Were Better Than Their Doctors

10. Jamie McCrimmon (Frazer Hines)

While most of his run was thrown into a fire in the great BBC anti-Doctor-Who witch hunt of the 1960s, Jamie was so brilliant that he shines through the screen even on audio recreations. Jamie was strong and loyal, like an obedient and loveable dog (even more so than the other dog in the series), and so brilliant that there are many occasions that you actually remember him more than the Second Doctor. His crowning moment, of course, is his departure in the War Games. His final scene is even sadder than the Doctor€™s, taking place a few minutes later, which is just downright scary. It€™s a feat that no other companion has matched. Except maybe Peri, but she went up against the Sixth Doctor falling off an exercise bike, so there are no real winners there.
