10 Doctor Who Couples That Created Unrealistic Expectations About Relationships

7. Jack Harkness And Anyone/Anything With A Pulse

Literally. An unrealistic expectation because... well, you can't just go around flirting and being sexually suggestive with everyone you meet, can you? Not in this day and age, at least. There's laws, regulations and the basic equal moral status of your fellow man (or woman, or both - Jack ain't picky!) to think about. But of course, Jack isn't from this day and age. That's the thing. He's a horny omnisexual beast who hails from the year 5094 (where everybody just spends all their time bonking each other, apparently!), so it's OK that he's always in the mood to get some... and then some. It's a different world in the 51st century. Chan, seriously, tho. If Doctor Who was set in the real world (and, let's face it, the majority of its fanbase still aren't 100% convinced that it isn't), Jack wouldn't have any time to save the universe from the likes of Weevils, gas mask zombies and Abaddon the Great Devourer (how did they get away with that last one?!) because he'd have more formidable forces to contend with. Like syphilis. After all, is it naive of us to assume that he's safe - *ahem* - every single time? There's only a finite amount of condoms in the world at any given time, after all, and he strikes us as the sort of person who'd rather act first and then deal with the consequences later. He even got pregnant once (or so he says), so there's seemingly no end to the madness. He is immortal, though, so maybe he's just not bothered anymore. That would certainly explain why it's seemingly so easy for him to partake in sexual liaisons with humans, aliens and every other variation thereupon. And that was just in Episode 3 of Miracle Day.
