9. The God Complex
The Doctor, Amy, and Rory are forced to face their biggest fears as they find themselves trapped in a creepy, ever-changing '80s hotel, reminiscent of The Overlook Hotel in The Shining.
In true Doctor Who fashion though, there is, of course, a strange monster roaming the halls, waiting for you to enter your room and come face-to-face with your worst fear.
The God Complex is packed with creepy imagery, from clowns, to ventriloquist dummies, to Who villains like the Weeping Angels. Oh, and there's also a giant Minotaur creature that comes to chase people around the hotel after they’ve been exposed to said imagery.
However, in a twist, the Doctor realises that the Minotaur feeds off faith, not fear. It shows its victims their biggest fears so they will fall back on their faith, allowing him to feed. As Rory didn’t have faith in anything, the Hotel kept showing him a way out, but for Amy, her faith in the Doctor almost caused her downfall.
This eerie episode is a perfect watch for fans of Kubrick and The Shining, as well as those who are fans of psychological horror stories.
