10 Doctor Who Facts You Won't Believe Are True

1. Torchwood: The Musical

Do we need to explain further, or is that title enough? A musical based on Torchwood. The show with the sex gas. It nearly happened.

In his book The Writer's Tale, Russell T Davies recalls the day he got a phone call from producer Mark Cossey, who informed him that an entertainment company had approached the BBC, and asked them about Torchwood: The Musical.

That's weird enough, but guess who was on board to write the music? Benny and Björn - as in, Benny and Björn from the Swedish supergroup ABBA.

Yes, the men behind Mamma Mia were apparently massive fans of Torchwood, and were really keen to get this musical project off the ground. We can only imagine how it would've looked - would the original cast have been involved? John Barrowman is a song and dance man, so he could've easily pitched in.

Either way, this would've been the greatest thing ever, or a true abomination that should never be spoken of again. Can't deny we would've wanted to see it though.
