Letitia Wright played a bit-part in Series 9’s Face the Raven, just a few years before her big break.

Wright played Anahson, a member of the two-faced (literally) Janus species, who can look both forwards and backwards in time. Disguised as a boy for her own protection, her path crosses briefly with the Doctor and Clara after their friend Rigsy is framed for the murder of Anahson’s mother.

Just two years later, Wright would have her big breakthrough in Black Mirror’s Black Museum episode, for which she was nominated for an Emmy. Notably, she was also nominated for a BAFTA for 2020’s Small Axe, but her most recognisable role, of course, comes as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

First cast in 2018's Black Panther as Shuri, T'Challa's genius sister, Wright would also star in both Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, alongside the late Chadwick Boseman.

Following Boseman’s untimely passing, Wright assumed the mantle of Black Panther in 2022's Wakanda Forever, so she will presumably be a key player in the MCU going forward. Watch this space.
