10 Doctor Who Mistakes You Can NEVER Unsee

6. Amy Pond's Mic Pack (The Power Of Three)

Every single TV set that's ever existed has been littered with high-tech recording equipment, but most of the time, none of this equipment ends up in the shot.

However, in Series 7's The Power Of Three, Karen Gillan's ass decided to make an exception.

In this episode, the Doctor is very very bored. He spends most of the time sitting around, waiting for a mysterious collection of black cubes to show any signs of life. Unsurprisingly - for someone with such a hyperactive mind - the Doctor isn't a huge fan of waiting, and so, to pass the time, he starts to do some chores around Amy's house, like mowing the lawn, painting the fence, and vacuuming.

During the vacuuming segment, the Doctor walks in front of the sofa that Amy is sat on, forcing her to lift her legs. When she does so, you can quite clearly see a microphone pack wedged in the back pocket of Gillan's jeans, which is visible for a good couple of seconds before the scene moves on.

Like the cameraman cameo in The Poison Sky, this is another mistake that's so glaring, you have to imagine that the production crew noticed it, but just didn't have the time or the motivation to change it. And hilariously, both episodes were directed by the same man, Douglas Mackinnon - maybe he's just trolling us?

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
