10 Doctor Who Spin Offs That Are Just Waiting To Happen
3. Parallel Life
The Doctor and Rose Tyler are one of the revived show's most loved - and similarly loathed - TARDIS duos and, while the romantic elements of her relationship with the actual Time Lord can be disputed, fans can't deny that her eventual pairing with his half human meta-crisis is the real deal. Something which both enthrals and infuriates them in equal measure. Instead of getting into the timey-wimey logistics of it, let's just accept that the Doctor and Rose is the greatest love story of them all. If you take the rest of the show's elements out of the equation, it probably is. To paraphrase Avril Lavigne, he was a boy, she was a girl... could they have made it any more obvious? What's more, they were both at a point of dismay in their lives when they first met (arguably he was dismayed because he had just been forced to destroy his entire planet and she was just really bored of public transport, but the point still stands) so it was pretty much obvious from the off that their relationship was destined to stand the test of time. It was a genuinely heartbreaking moment to accept that Rose would be forced to live all alone (well, she had her family, at least) on a parallel universe forevermore so it's reassuring for her fans to know that she's now happy and well with a human version of her beloved. Well, after devoting her life to get back to him and defying the realms of reality itself to return to our world, and just in time to aid him in his greatest battle yet with Davros, it's the least the real Doctor could've done for her, really. The domesticated lives of the Human Doctor and Rose - or 10.5 and Rose, as they've affectionately come to be known - have subsequently become one of the most popular subjects of Doctor Who speculation and many of their devoted 'shippers' are still holding out for them to be one day given a spin off series of their very own. It would give David Tennant and Billie Piper a reason to come back (again) at least, and there is somewhat of a potential given that the real Doctor left them with a piece of coral to grow their own TARDIS (though that part of the scene was ultimately cut from Journey's End, it's still canon, dammit!), paving the way for their own parallel universe adventures. An added bonus is that they'd also be able to make loads of babies, too, which is something everyone wants to see... right? Hmmm. On second thoughts, maybe some things are better left to the realms of fan fiction. There's plenty of it, too, if you know where to go...
