10 Family Guy Episodes That PISSED People Off

The Simpsons may be famous for its decline in quality over the years, but it is certainly not the only animated show to suffer such a fate. Family Guy also struggled to recapture the magic of its first few years, and in season 12 tried to shake things up some by killing off Brian.

The beloved family dog had been a mainstay in the Griffin household since the very first episode, but was run over by a car in 'Life of Brian'. His death, and the goodbye shared between him and his family was actually quite moving, but this didn't spare the episode from being hated.

Killing off a fan favourite character was bad enough, but replacing him with Vinny, a boring one dimensional canine with no personality but a Jersey accent didn't sit well with fans at all. They had to mourn Brian and accept a poor knock off in his place.

Just two episodes later, the show essentially went back on the poignant moment Brian shared with his family by bringing him back to the show anyway. Seth MacFarlane claimed this was a lesson about taking people for granted, but it came off more as an insult to the fans.
