10 Frightfully Good Doctor Who Audios For Halloween

8. No Place

SUMMARY: Justin, presenter of the spooky home improvement show Haunted Makeovers, turns up in Chiswick to record his latest episode. This time he’s at Moorly Manor, a house with a long and creepy history, that’s currently being renovated by Doctor Smith and his wife Donna. There to help out are Donna’s mum Sylvia and her grandfather Wilf.

Of course Justin doesn’t expect to find any real ghosts, just draughts and faulty lighting. But as the day wanes to night, it becomes clear there is something strange going on. There are voices on the sound recordings and bones in the garden…

WHY LISTEN? This adventure has a real found footage feel, as the story is told mainly through extracts of Justin’s recordings and narration. The inclusion of Wilf and Sylvia is great, and we get to hear them interact more with Donna and the Doctor.

The scenes of Donna and the Doctor pretending to be married, and calling each other a load of silly pet names, is hilarous – a reminder of how good the characters were together.
