10 Funniest Buffy The Vampire Slayer Episodes

1. Band Candy

Buffy Cheese Man
Mutant Enemy

Giles' ex-friend and purveyor of dark magicks, Ethan Rayne, makes his third visit to Sunnydale in the masterful Band Candy (season three, episode six), bewitching the chocolate bars that Principal Snyder has students selling to raise funds for the high school's marching band.

Sunnydale soon finds itself without authority or security, as all of the adults become (mentally, not physically), their teenage selves. This proves particularly entertaining as Giles transforms into his anarchistic younger self, Ripper.

He wreaks havoc across town with Buffy's mum in tow, breaking into shops, punching out police officers and even having sex on the bonnet of a car (something we fortunately don't see but are treated to the details of in the later episode Earshot, where Buffy becomes temporarily telepathic).

Elsewhere, adults street race, doctors perform topless karaoke onstage at The Bronze and Armin Shimerman puts in a sublime turn as a young, weaselly but moderately wild Principal Snyder - a character normally so uptight in his cruel, steadfast dedication to rules and order.

If it's rich, chocolatey funnies you want from your Buffy, Band Candy is the one-stop shop.
