10 Greatest Animated TV Shows Of The 2000s

8. King Of The Hill

Samurai Jack
20th Television

There’s no animated show which defines the genre of ‘slice of life’ more than King of the Hill. This is a series which goes at its own pace without ever altering its general tone for shock value in order to make itself more appealing.

The cartoon is a simple look at Hank Hill, a propane gas salesman from Texas, and the odd occurrences that arise from his family and friends. The dialogue exchanges are often phatic and come across as any normal conversation, with lots of "yep" and "mmm-hmm" utterances in between. There’s almost no need for the series to be animated because everything is just so regular and realistic.

However, regular doesn’t mean dull. With 13 seasons to its name, the naturalism of King of the Hill has provided many terrific storylines and plenty of laughs - not to mention the voice acting from each cast member is perfect.
