10 Greatest Episodes Of The Muppet Show

5. Season 3, Episode 8 (Loretta Lynn) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5So02Fk6cbU €œIt€™s time to meet the Muppets on the rail road tracks tonight€ Moving from unusual Muppet stars to strange settings, in Loretta Lynn€™s episode, the Muppets move their production to a train station while the Muppet Theatre gets fumigated. Some Muppets adapt quite well to the change, such as the News Man, who simply moves his operation to a news stand, and the move hardly fazes Lynn, who claims that €œcountry singers can sing anywhere€. Other cast members, however, struggle with the new scenery: speeding trains and the bustling of crowds interrupt many of the skits, and Kermit hops onto what he believes to be a defunct train car, that in reality works perfectly well and is headed for Pittsburgh. The Coal Miner€™s Daughter performs multiple musical numbers throughout the episode, including a rendition of €œOne€™s On The Way€ sung in front of a kitchen backdrop painted by Fozzie. In the mid-70s, Lynn€™s recording of a controversial song titled €œThe Pill€ spread the word about contraceptives in rural parts of the U.S., but the creepy babies featured in this Muppet Show episode are reason enough to use birth control.
