The brutal brawn of the brotherly tandem and the man who found himself as the unwitting pawn in The Company's conspiracy after being framed for the "murder" of then-Vice President Caroline Reynolds' brother Terence Steadman. What you see is what you get from Lincoln: punch first ask - actually don't bother with questions later. That's not a criticism; rather his volatile tough guy exterior perfectly counterbalances the cool, calm, almost aloof persona of his brother Michael.

Lincoln arguably suffers the most when it comes to the closest to him: son LJ is constantly in danger, ex-girlfriend Veronica Donovan (honourable mention must go to Robin Tunney's character) gets brutally gunned down by Company agents, his mother, Christina Rose Scofield heartlessly tells Lincoln that she isn't his mother, and watches his father, Aldo Burrows, die in front of him and Michael.

Following the Fox River breakout, Lincoln inevitably begins to play more of an intrinsic role when, at first, evading and then taking on The Company, a change in mindset brought about by the death of Aldo. Moreover, this is proven in season three when Lincoln has to ally smarts with his usual uncompromising style when Michael ends up incarcerated in Sona. And going by the trailers for the upcoming fifth season, it looks as though he finds himself in a similarly desperate situation.
