10 Greatest Star Trek Callbacks

One of the highlights of Star Trek: First Contact was the scene near the end of the film when the Vulcans first landed and introduced themselves to Zefram Cochrane and the rest of humanity. When humanity learned that it was not alone in the universe, they united like never before. Peace spread across the post-war world and a new era began, however, first contact with the Vulcans could've been much worse.

At the beginning of the Enterprise episode In A Mirror, Darkly, we got to see the mirror universe's version of first contact. Rather than greeting the Vulcan with a handshake, Cochrane reached into his coat, pulled out a gun, and shot the alien dead. The Humans then boarded their ship and used it's advanced technology to quickly dominate the Alpha Quadrant.

Footage from First Contact was reused brilliantly, along with a few new shots, to create this twisted, darker version of one of the most inspiring moments in Trek history.
