10 Greatest Time Travel TV Shows Of All Time

8. Peabody's Improbable History

Looking back, Peabody's Improbable History has all the elements of a standout cartoon series. You've got a talking dog who inexplicably happens to be a business magnate/inventor/time traveler and adopts a human son who goes on adventures with him via the WABAC Machine, which allows them to travel through time. What more could you possibly want?

Peabody's experiments with the time machine lead to certain adjustments being made, including a language translator and some bizarre component that makes everyone in the past act anachronistically. (Lazy writing, thy name is 1960s scifi cartoons.)

Although Peabody's Improbable History was technically just a segment on The Rocky & Bullwinkle Show, it left its mark on audiences, running for six years and inspiring both the 2014 film adaptation Mister Peabody & Sherman as well as the 2015 reboot The Mr. Peabody & Sherman Show starring Chris Parnell. Also, anytime you see a character deliver a clumsy pun directly to camera and hear sad trombone music, that's Mr. Peabody through and through.
