10 Horror TV Shows That Deserved Another Season

1. Hannibal

This show's inclusion here is the same as a meal that would disappoint the legendary Hannibal Lecter, i.e. it's a no-brainer.

Hannibal's unjust cancellation might be one of the most egregious examples of a TV show being cut down in its prime, standing among the greats like Firefly, Pushing Daisies and Freaks and Geeks. It was a series that easily lived up to its iconic source material and did so with some gory as hell vigour.

The series explored the relationship between FBI criminal profiler Will Graham and the cannibalistic psychiatrist Dr Hannibal Lecter. It took stories from across Thomas Harris' novels, including Red Dragon and Hannibal, and was even set to tackle the infamous Silence of the Lambs down the line. Oh, what a sight that would have been!

Viewers were given every kind of horror treat they could have wanted, with an iconic/chilling performance from Mads Mikkelsen in the titular role, some compelling mystery, excellent writing/direction and, again, some nightmarish gore.

The show was ultimately cancelled due to low viewership, and fans have been petitioning for a fourth season ever since. It's not just fans who are thirsty for more Hannibal, as the creator (Bryan Fuller) has been pushing for a revival or a movie nonstop since it was cut short. Let's hope he gets his wish one day.
