While roommates with Robin, Ted comes home one night to find a guy sitting naked on the couch. Robin is outside taking a call.
The naked man, Mitch, explains that that is his move - he knows he is neither particularly smart nor attractive and he only gets laid due pity and his daring manoeuvre, which actually works on Robin. Mitch says the naked man works 2 out of 3 times.
Once the gang is done slut-shaming Robin, they all go and try out the naked man, confirming for us viewers that it works 2 out of 3 times.
