10 Huge Misconceptions About Doctor Who

4. The Console Room Is The Centre Of The TARDIS - Or Is It?

It's never been said, but you just assume it is, don't you? Is it not much more likely to be on the edge of the ship, because that's the way in? Or because a ship infinitely huge wouldn't have such a defined centre? Surely a TARDIS should be navigated from the centre, but is the navigation even in the centre, going back to the point about the time rotor? If we're to believe the Doctor's wife, is a TARDIS built - or grown - from the centre outwards? Is the Eye of Harmony really in the centre, as 'Journey to the Centre of the TARDIS' suggests? Where would that place the console room? We know as well as the Doctor probably does, but it certainly makes you think.
