10 Insane TV Plots That Almost Happened

9. Inara's Magic Drug Kills A Band Of Reaver Rapists On 'Firefly'

Doctor Who/Harry Potter
20th Century Fox

Firefly was never given a chance, with its episodes airing out of order, and Fox cancelling it before the first season properly ended. Still, with only 14 episodes, the show garnered a massive following that resulted in a feature film.

Of course, that wasn't enough for most fans, many of whom would still love to see Firefly return to the airwaves. Since the show's cancellation, details of un-made episodes have emerged, but one scrapped hour in particular is one many are glad never got to see the light of day.

In the tossed episode, it would have revealed that Inara is both dying and a drug addict, and also that she can inject herself with a "magic syringe" that somehow kills anyone who rapes her.

In this story that's shown because Reavers kidnap her, and by the time Mal manages to rescue her, he finds her aboard a Reaver ship, with all the Reavers dead.

Inara has been "horribly brutalized, and he comes in, and he gets down on his knee, and he takes her hand. And he treats her like a lady." Yikes.

So, the TL;DR is that Inara is kidnapped and horribly raped. Her rapists all die, and Mal manages to stop slut-shaming her for a moment.
