Ah Saved By The Bell, the pure and innocent tweenage sitcom which has already been somewhat ruined by star Dustin Diamond's adult foray into the porn industry (with the charmingly named sex tape Screeched - Saved by the Smell). Still, before all that childhood ruination there were the fond memories of the wacky hijinks of Screech, Slater, Lisa, Mr Belding, Jessie, Zack, and Kelly, occasionally interrupted by a very special episode where one of them gets addicted to caffeine pills and keeps singing I'm So Excited by The Pointer Sisters. The reality of substance abuse is a very scary one, pals.

Anyway, despite al those brief sojourns into scary adulthood, Saved By The Bell was mostly a friendly, silly and inconsequential comedy show for kids. Girls hate him, none of his schemes succeed, and his "pals" Mikey and Nikki constantly bully him.

So why is he so completely different in Saved By The Bell, and what happened to those old friends/tormentors? Duh, Bayside is all in Zack's head. The whole show is a daydream about his ideal life, to escape the crappy childhood he's actually experiencing. Although we're not sure how that explains The New Class. Or Screeched...
