10 Irresistible TV Spin-Offs That Need To Happen

10. The Walking Dead: UK

The Walking Dead One of the best things about The Walking Dead is the mystery over what has happened to the rest of the world. So far our characters have been confined to the state of Georgia (thereabouts) and one of things I'm hoping for is to see them spread out and explore the rest of the US. Is every state overrun with zombies? And has it spread to places like the Caribbean islands or Hawaii? The suggestion is certainly that nowhere is safe. One way to explore this a bit further would be to create a second series in another part of the world. I wouldn't have this set in the US-it would be too similar to the original series or even come off as a little inferior as the Miami and New York spin offs were to the original Vegas-based CSI. We've had a little run at a zombie TV series here in the UK with In The Flesh but what about a fully-fledged spin off from The Walking Dead set in the UK? Perhaps a partnership between AMC and the BBC in a way similar to the recent Torchwood collaboration between the BBC and Starz Network? It would be interesting to see what effect the zombie apocalypse has in the UK and the rest of Europe. There was a mention of a cure in France in the season one finale of The Walking Dead. Could that be the starting point for the ongoing plot in this spin off? Perhaps events could occur that enlighten audience of the US series as to the wider events in the world, or vice versa. Perhaps a tenuous transmission link through a satellite between the two casts to tie them together? I write this not having read the comics and therefore not having the knowledge of other events potentially to come. But I think this is one way to build on the popularity of the show while still having two shows that are not too similar in tone.
