WildC.A.Ts is actually something of an odd case, because when they first debuted they were actually among the most popular teams in the comic book industry, although whether that popularity was genuine or purely symptomatic of the nineties speculator boom is up for debate.

Either way, there's no denying that, for a certain period during the nineties, the WildC.A.Ts were true A-list stars; they even had their own cartoon show! And it's with that in mind that they're long overdue a comeback, especially since they've been integrated with the wider DC mythos.

Tentative steps have been taken in the comics themselves to spotlight the team more heavily (Grifter even had his own book in the New 52), but they've had nothing near the same level of attention they once did two decades ago. Given the recipe was so successful the first time around, now may just be the perfect time to bring them back - nineties cliches and all.
