10 Little Known Superhero Teams That Could Make DC Millions
4. Rocket Red Brigade
Although the Rocket Red Brigade have always struggled in terms of popularity, they represent an interesting if not under-utilised premise that could turn into DC's own Iron Man if they mined it thoroughly.
Created by Steve Englehart and Joe Staton, Rocket Red and his brigade first appeared in an issue of Green Lantern (a recurring theme, surprisingly), and were introduced as a superhuman unit who used advanced technology to defend the U.S.S.R. Obviously that nation no longer exists, but should Warner Bros. be interested in a superhero story set entirely in the past - as they seem to be, with both Wonder Woman and its sequel taking place in World War I and the 1980s respectively - then there's no reason why Rocket Red couldn't work off the page.
Dozens have actually enlisted in the unit since its creation, but the two most integral figures in the comics have been Dmitri Pushkin, who became a member of Justice League International, and Gavril Ivanovich, who also joined the group after operating under the remit of the United Nations.
Whether repurposed to fit the changing mood and times or adapted with the original timeline in mind, it's easy to see how Rocket Red could take the world by storm. (Just as long as the Iron Man analogue isn't too blatant.)
