10 Lost Doctor Who Episodes We'll Never See

Whilst not up there with the Daleks, Cybermen, or Sontarans, the Ice Warriors could still be considered one of the Doctor’s most iconic enemies. However, part of their original debut is partially missing. Episodes two and three are absent from the BBC archives. Irritatingly, these are arguably the most pivotal episodes of the story.

The Ice Warriors don’t actually show up in the first episode of the story. Episodes two and three showed the Ice Warrior leader, Varga, reawakened and take Victoria captive, before reviving his comrades. Like other entries, this story has been animated with the original audio to be enjoyed today.

Whilst this isn’t the Ice Warriors' greatest story, it is nevertheless their original, and an iconic Troughton serial. The Ice Warriors have gone on to feature in another Troughton story, both of Jon Pertwee’s Peladon stories, as well as being revived and facing off against Matt Smith and Peter Capaldi. Ice Warriors arguably rank up with Zygons and Autons as some of the lesser used but most iconic classic series villains, and for their initial debut episode to be missing is a great shame.
