It's criminal that we lost these TV shows after only one season.

Amongst all of the good TV around right now, there’s lots of crap and a whole host of shows that have become boring, bloated versions of their former selves; however, what about the shows that were never even allowed to thrive? The great shows from past years that were cancelled long before their expiration date was even in sight and were let down by poor ratings, failed promotion and awkward TV slots.

Many of the shows on this list redefined the benchmarks for their genre of TV, showcased young talent long before they became famous and grew strong cult followings. Just because their networks gave up on them, that doesn't mean we ever did and within this list are some absolute classics that simply weren’t given their chance to continue on and expand in a second season.

Note: This is a sequel to an article we published last month also chronicling the 10 Best TV Shows That Only Got One Season. Here's 10 more that deserve mention...

10. Marianne (2019)

My So-Called Life
Netflix

Marianne is a French horror web television series which was released on Netflix in September 2019. It focuses around a young novelist called Emma who begins to realise that the characters she’s writing are becoming real world horrors and the spirit haunting her is actually real.

The show is well loved for combining classic horror influences with its own unique spin: it’s mysterious, creepy and gripping, making it one of Netflix’s best horror shows. The show stars Victoire Du Bois as the young writer and uses settings such as lakes and forests to make it a traditionally creepy horror with a spin from director Samuel Bodin which takes it into nightmarish territory. People will probably remember it best for it’s terrifying atmosphere and ability to still be fun despite how chilling it can also be.

Unfortunately, Marianne was cancelled earlier this year by Netflix despite director Bodin making it clear that he had a three season plan for the show. We’ll undoubtedly see the director make more haunting stories but we sure wanted to see him continue on with this one...
