10 TV Shows That Just Got Cancelled
5. Julia
Though no reason was given for the cancellation of HBO's Julia, little would be capable of comforting the underappreciated gem's fans. Over its short but sweet two season run, Julia was as infectiously joyful as the woman at its centre.
Following the life of beloved chef and culinary icon Julia Child during production of her show The French Chef, the lovely biopic blends insightful real life drama with poignant assessments of Child's influence over not just the art of good cooking, but also her pioneering impact on TV production.
With plenty of belly laughs, succulent cooking scenes, and warm depictions of people being good and doing what they love, Julia boasts a staggering performance from the great Sarah Lancashire, who somehow spent Julia's ill-fated run ignored by Emmy voters, as well as co-stars David Hyde Pierce, Fran Kranz, and Brittany Bradford.
The small screen equivalent of a comforting embrace, Julia wasn't meant to last, but it's such a wonderful display it's easy to be grateful for the time we had with it.
