10 Most Anticipated Horror TV Shows Of 2026
5. The Vampire Lestat
It is rare, but there are some reboots that actually improve on the original, and arguably AMC's Interview With A Vampire would fit this category. Spreading Anne Rice's source material over not one but two seasons of TV allowed a much deeper story to be told than by Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise in 1994.
2026 will see a third season of the show release with the new title of The Vampire Lestat, the same name as Rice's second novel. How faithful this will be is uncertain right now, as it has been teased that the showrunners are looking at elements from all of the books in the series.
However, it is certain that there will be more of a focus on Sam Reid's Lestat, while series developer Rolin Jones has confirmed that Jacob Anderson's Louis de Pointe du lac will also see a considerable amount of story and development at the same time.
The show was a revelation when it released back in 2022, and has so far come in with two solid seasons. A change of focus is something of a risk to be sure, but it's better than getting stale with another eight episodes of the same thing, right?
