10 Most Anticipated Horror TV Shows Of 2026
6. Carrie
Mike Flanagan has been something of a staple in the horror genre over the last decade, with the likes of Gerald's Game and Doctor Sleep to his name on the big screen, and The Haunting of Hill House, The Haunting of Bly Manor, Midnight Mass, The Midnight Club, and Fall of the House of Usher on the small.
It's no surprise then that he is returning to the world of the frightful again in 2026, this time with an adaptation of a classic horror film from 1976 for television.
After a somewhat underwhelming remake in 2013, Stephen King's Carrie will be told on the small screen, and with Flanagan's CV such as it is, it has the potential to be something exceptional. With more time to delve into the titular character's relationships both with her mother and those at school, as well as discovering and embracing her powers, this could be the deepest exploration of Carrie White yet.
The cast will feature newcomer Summer H. Howell as Carrie herself, alongside Prey's Amber Midthunder, frequent Flanagan collaborator Samantha Sloyan as Carrie's mother, and the ever-wonderful horror legend Matthew Lillard as the icing on an already delicious-looking cake.
