Sticking with the superhero theme, the Justice League shows were widely hailed as two of the best animated TV series ever. And that was largely due to the engaging and sympathetic characters.

Hawkgirl first appeared on the show as a headstrong alien warrior who could punch her way through any villain. However as the show went on, she almost became the emotional core of the whole thing.

She was always malleable with regards to her beliefs, being open to different viewpoints that explained the circumstances better. Best example of that was during the episode she watched Solomon Grundy die and assured him his soul was waiting in the afterlife, despite being an atheist herself.

The first series finale also revolved around her, as she struggled to choose between saving her original home world and her adopted home world. It was somewhat rare at the time to see a superhero battle emotions as much as supervillains, and it made her all the more relatable.
