10 Most Brutal TV Weapons
6. Kyoketsu-Shoge - Daredevil
Towards the end of the MCU's Phase Two, fans wondered if Marvel would make something aimed towards mature audiences. 2015's Daredevil answered that cry.
The series was received well by fans, praised for hitting a right balance of comedic and dramatic moments, as well as introducing some downright deplorable villains, unlike previous attempts at bringing the blind brawler to screen (looking at you, Ben Affleck).
One particularly nasty antagonist is the ninja Nobu, a crime lord working with main antagonist Wilson Fisk. Hunting Fisk, Matt Murdock, aka Daredevil, arrives at a warehouse and is met with Nobu. The ninja challenges Daredevil some impressive martial arts and throwing knives, before whipping out his shoge hook to finish Murdock off for good.
The kyoketsu-shoge is a double-edged blade with another curved edge, attached on a long chain used to ensnare his opponents and throw the knife without losing it.
Nobu's flying knife of death proves a formidable match to Daredevil, as the blade slices through The Devil of Hell's Kitchen like hot butter. Maybe Nobu should have realised how dangerous his knife-cum-nun-chuck was when he accidentally punctures a fuel tank, which Daredevil exploits to set the ninja on fire.
