10 Most Disappointing Death Scenes In Game Of Thrones
1. Jamie And Cersei
Jamie and Cersei were both strong contenders for the best character in the show. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Lena Headey nailed their respective roles, and it was fascinating to observe their characters evolve in the way that they did.
It was particularly interesting to see how Jamie and Cersei became less similar as the show continued, with Jamie becoming more virtuous and Cersei becoming more villainous. Fans were at a loss, therefore, as to why Jamie remained loyal to his sister at the end of the show.
What’s more, in the books it was revealed that during Cersei’s childhood she was told by a fortune teller that she would die at the hands of her younger brother. Given that Cersei was born before Jamie, many fans believed that he would be the one to kill his twisted sister, before then killing himself due to grief. This would have been a much more satisfactory and emotional ending for this brilliant duo.
Instead, both Jamie and Cersei died together beneath the Red Keep as a result of falling debris. Due to how layered and popular these two characters were, such an ending was a huge letdown.
