Another show with a penchant for a plethora of creatively violent deaths Hannibal was a tough one to pick a standout from.

However that honour, or dishonour depending on what side you sit on, belongs to a poor nameless nurse who really didn't deserve the brutal end she suffered.

Only Hannibal fans will be struck with fear upon hearing the name Eddie Izzard and much of that owes to his brutal escape from the facility in which his character Dr. Abel Gideon is being held.

The gruesome scene is actually recreated for the viewer by Will Graham and we never actually see Izzard's Gideon remove the poor nurse's eyes before skewering her with all manner of hospital apparatus, but that makes it no less harrowing.

A definite example of a character standing out due to the visceral manner of their death. RIP nameless nurse, we'll never forget you.
