10 Most Emotional Moments On The Walking Dead
7. The Fall Of The Prison
For a few seasons The Walking Dead had fallen into a predictable formula; the gang find a place, it gets wrecked and they head off to find another place. It got a tad samey, but they seem relatively settled - if not exactly cosy - in the Alexandria Safe-Zone for now.
The biggest morale killer was the loss of the prison in season four, which they’d worked damn hard to seize and hold onto. They’d lost friends and loved ones to keep it, and there was sense they’d found a bit of safety. The Governor wasn’t having any of that and literally rolled up in a tank to blast them out of it.
Seeing him execute loveable Hershel beforehand was harsh enough, but to see the whole sanctuary go up in smoke and leave them scattered to the wind again was a tough pill to swallow.
That said, it was worth it to see Daryl blow up a tank.
