What We Do in the Shadows is expected to return for a fourth season in September 2022, having been renewed ahead of season three airing on FX.
The show is based on the 2014 film by New Zealand duo Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi and expands the universe the two created together, with Clement as show creator. Waititi directed the pilot episode and both men serve as executive producers for the series. If you haven't watched this show yet, it is a real must, especially for fans of the duos other work such as Eagle vs. Shark.
What We Do in the Shadows is a horror-comedy filmed in a mockumentary style. It centres on four vampire roommates and their human familiar in Staten Island. This take on the flat-share comedy is heavily influenced by horror films from the '70s and '80s, while also pulling lore and imagery from films such as Nosferatu. Along with the talented cast and interesting recurring characters, each season has hosted a who's who of guests starts, including Dave Batista, Wesley Snipes, and Mark Hamill.
