10 Most Paused Doctor Who Moments Ever

6. Peri Goes For A Swim (Planet Of Fire)

Star Wars fans have Princess Leia and the gold bikini, but Doctor Who fans? We have Peri Brown and the pink bikini.

Whether we admit it or not, we all love seeing our favourite pop-culture characters bare a little flesh, so when the stunning Nicola Bryant stripped down to her swimwear and went for a splash in the ocean - in her very first Doctor Who story, 1984's Planet Of Fire - many, many Whovians undoubtedly reached for the pause button.

And considering how many bikini shots are in this story (Peri starts to drown in the water before she's taken back to the TARDIS by Turlough, and she doesn't change outfits for a good long while), there isn't exactly a shortage of options to choose from.

On the subject of scantily-clad Doctor Who characters, we have to give honourable mentions to two other popular pause moments: Captain Jack Harkness in Bad Wolf...

...and the Eleventh Doctor in The Time Of The Doctor.

Three beautiful humans, each of them searing their semi-naked forms into our brains until the end of time. Thanks, Doctor Who.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
