7. The TARDIS Storage Room (Journey To The Centre Of The TARDIS)

Journey To The Centre Of The TARDIS gave us the most in-depth tour of the Doctor's time machine that we've ever had in the show, taking us everywhere from the library, to the swimming pool, to the Eye Of Harmony, to the architectural reconfiguration room.

This means that the episode is littered with scenes that are begging to be examined in closer detail ("What books does the Doctor have in his library?" "And what the hell does 'Encyclopedia Gallifreya' mean!?"), and this is definitely true of the storage room that Clara finds herself in near the start of the episode.

This room contains a range of objects that fans will recognise from the history of the show, such as the Doctor's cot, the Seventh Doctor's umbrella, and a model TARDIS, that might just be the same one that young Amelia Pond built when she was a kid.

There are tons of other items in this room too - parcels, letters, and even a typewriter, similar to the one seen in the Eleventh Doctor's first TARDIS - and while the episode wasn't amazing, it was certainly a fun one to comb through, hunting for those deep-cut references and easter eggs.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
